STATIONARY PACKAGE:

I really like how my card came out. It took awhile to get this to be perfect. I didn't realize how much work would go into the business card till I found out that the rest of the project's elements had to resemble it's theme. The hardest part was figuring out the point size of the text and making it all fit together.

RESEARCH & BRAINSTORMING

RESEARCH:

For my research, I mainly just looked up different landscaping business cards or generic letterheads and envelopes to see what kind of layout they had. I knew once I got my business card done, the other two's designs would come naturally (so I thought). They were all very similar and mostly templates. Same old grass or simple tree designs. They weren't terrible, just not exciting to stand out. I wish I would have done more research for the business card since it took me so long to come up with a design. I really liked the topographic look to represent land, so I had to incorporate that element in my card somehow.

THUMBNAILS

THUMBNAILS:

I really wanted to try and follow the layout of projects for this class and actually try doing the thumbnails.

TIGHT THUMBNAILS

TIGHT THUMBNAILS:

I was a little confused on what I wanted to do for the business card. These were quickly done in class and I thought it would look more simple than what was to later to be a more complicated layout for the card. For the envelope and letter head...

2 INTERMEDIATES

INTERMEDIATES:

I really thought I had a solid idea for the business card but ended up changing it to a vertical card. I liked the topographic look and wanted to make that work with any card I was going to move forward with.

B&W PROGRESSIONS

PROGRESSIONS:

I had a lot of ideas that were all very similar but with a a few minor differences, mostly surrounding the point and logo sizes. What I should have done in this is reduce the size of my name, but I wasn't aware it was too big at the time of making them.

For the envelope, it was just trying to make it simpler and not be too extra.

For the letterhead, same thing. Just needing to reduce sizes of elements and make it simple.

COLOR PROGRESSIONS:

These progressions also include different designs, but that's because I was still stuck on either horizontal or vertical orientation. I really liked the pink vertical cards, but ended up doing a green background in the end to make the pink and paper stand out.

For the letterhead and business card, it was about finding that right shade of green light enough but also not too light.
