PROJECT DETAILS:

I had a lot fun with the brochure project. We had to create a brochure for our company and have three things we would talk about and an overall theme, which is where our headline came in. We had to include a coupon, form, map, and business reply mail.

I already had a pretty good understanding of my company's guidelines and look, so colors and graphics came easy for the most part, but the map was the most difficult part that I struggled with till the end. This is also where I got to include new colors.

RESEARCH & BRAINSTORMING

PREP WORK:

For my brain map, more like a list, I wanted to focus on what I was going to be talking about in my brochure. I came up with some focuses on water conservation, saving money on water bills, upscale look for yards, and less yard work. I had to then come up with some headlines and subheads for the three paragraphs I had to write. This wasn't too bad since it depended on what my overall topic was in the brochure, but overall helpful. My research was more just looking at other people's brochure's; mainly past students to see how they laid things out.

THUMBNAILS

FIRST THUMBNAILS:

These thumbnails were some of my nicest I've done in the class. They laid out which elements later on I would use and what wasn't working. I really liked my first and second ones since they looked so nice and I ended up sticking to th first style.

INTERMEDIATES

INTERMEDIATE DRAWINGS:

For these, I was stuck between two styles, but was told I couldn't do text on the front cover which helped me choose the first one. I wish I would have spent more time on the typography styles.

FINAL HAND DRAWINGS:

I kind of messed up on the inside of the brochure, but I'm happy with it and that I actually did it. It was hard, but it made going to the computer easier. I wanted to take a lot of time on this project since I struggled with brochures in the past.

B&W PROGRESSIONS

PROGRESSIONS:

I had more progressions, but I lost those notes, essentially I had to change my map a lot to show more streets and treats roads differently. I had to update text sizes and change headlines.
